Voices for Wildlife – World Wildlife Day

This World Wildlife Day 2026, we’re bringing our community together to say clearly and collectively: wildlife matters, and protecting it cannot wait.
Join for a powerful day of connection, learning, and action in the heart of the city. Meet local wildlife rescue and conservation organisations, hear inspiring stories from the frontlines, and discover simple ways you can make a real difference. It’s a space to celebrate our native animals, and to stand up for their future.
When : 2-5 pm, 1 March 2026
Where : Bourke Street, Opposite Myers, City of Melbourne
Speakers include: AJP’s Georgie Purcell MP (Northern Victoria Region), Dr. Davita Coronel & Brooke Henderson (Friends of Bats and Bushcare), Michelle (Koala Alliance), Jordan Crook (Victorian National Park Association), Laurie Levy (Coalition Against Duck Shooting), Jane and Tamasin (Gariwerd Animal Biodiversity Alliance) and Elaine Ong (Vets for Compassion)
Many wildlife groups have been stretched thin by this year’s bushfires and ongoing environmental pressures. Your presence shows them they’re not alone. And just as importantly, showing up in numbers sends a strong message to decision-makers: our community cares deeply about wildlife protection and expects meaningful action.
Because when hundreds of people gather, voices grow louder. When thousands stand together, change becomes possible.
Bring your friends, your family, your neighbours. Bring your love for nature and your hope for a better future.
