While volunteering can be dirty work\, it greatly assists in keeping the sanctuary animals safe\, happy and healthy. \nEdgar’s Mission is a not-for-profit sanctuary for rescued farmed animals with a vision for a humane and just world for all. \nThrough education\, outreach\, advocacy\, community enrichment and tours\, Edgar’s Mission encourages people to expand their circle of compassion to include all animals. \nWhat a Day Looks Like on A helping Hands Day \n\n8:30am – Arrive at Edgar’s Mission\n8:45am – Induction and safety briefing\n9.00am – Sanctuary tasks – these change each week and can include mucking out shelters\, raking\, weeding\, painting\, etc.\n12.00pm – Lunch break\n12.45pm – Further sanctuary tasks\n2.15 pm – Conclude your day\n\nHelping Hands Volunteer Requirements \n\nParticipants must be 18 years and over. For safety reasons\, 15- to 17-year-olds must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.\nA level of fitness and mobility to be able to complete tasks involving bending and lifting\nAbility to work independently and part of a team\nWillingness to work quietly to create a peaceful environment for our residents\nComfortable around animals of all sizes\, including chickens\, goats\, and pigs\n\nOut of respect for our animal residents\, we request that no animal products make their way onto the sanctuary grounds via your lunch box (this includes meat\, dairy and eggs). Also\, please do not bring any avocado to the sanctuary as it is deadly toxic to our birds. Thank you. \n

While volunteering can be dirty work\, it greatly assists in keeping the sanctuary animals safe\, happy and healthy. \nEdgar’s Mission is a not-for-profit sanctuary for rescued farmed animals with a vision for a humane and just world for all. \nThrough education\, outreach\, advocacy\, community enrichment and tours\, Edgar’s Mission encourages people to expand their circle of compassion to include all animals. \nWhat a Day Looks Like on A helping Hands Day \n\n8:30am – Arrive at Edgar’s Mission\n8:45am – Induction and safety briefing\n9.00am – Sanctuary tasks – these change each week and can include mucking out shelters\, raking\, weeding\, painting\, etc.\n12.00pm – Lunch break\n12.45pm – Further sanctuary tasks\n2.15 pm – Conclude your day\n\nHelping Hands Volunteer Requirements \n\nParticipants must be 18 years and over. DESCRIPTION:Get tattooed or buy some artwork to help Farm Transparency Project pay for lawyers! \n\nFull day of tattooing by incredible artists to raise money to cover legal fees\, and show your support for investigations and animal rights at the same time. \n\nNot into tattoos? Come along and buy some artwork\, stickers or baked goods and still support the cause.\nAll tattoos and food will be fully vegan. \n\nSince May 2024\, Farm Transparency Project have been fighting to publish footage captured during a covert investigation at the Game Meats Company’s slaughterhouse in Eurobin\, Victoria. Footage shows goats screaming in agony\, jumping free of the stunning restraint and escaping onto the kill room floor\, where they are sometimes killed while fully conscious. It also shows the brutal\, painful slaughter of newborn baby goats.\nThis year\, the fight will take us to the High Court of Australia\, to appeal an injunction on our footage imposed by the Federal Court. DESCRIPTION:Edgar’s Mission is located in beautiful Lancefield in Victoria\, Australia. Sanctuary tours are fun and informative\, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Edgar’s Mission is not a petting zoo\, but you’ll have the chance to interact with the animal residents if they choose. \nBookings are essential and tours fill up fast\, book early to avoid disappointment! \nOur Standard Tour runs for around two hours and covers 3km with a group size of 30. Strictly ages 10+ for safety reasons. \nStandard Tours are free\, to make visiting the sanctuary as accessible as possible\, with the option to ‘pay as you feel’ if you would like to support Edgar’s Mission through a financial contribution of any size. \n  \nEdgar’s Mission is a not-for-profit sanctuary for rescued farmed animals with a vision for a humane and just world for all. Through education\, outreach\, advocacy\, community enrichment and tours\, we encourage people to expand their circle of compassion to include all animals.
