DESCRIPTION:Hit the streets of Melbourne to celebrate animals instead of exploiting them \n\nFollowing last year’s successful test run of replacing the traditional Melbourne Cup Parade with a Nup to the Cup parade on the day before the Cup\, we’re making this year’s parade even better. \n\nWith the nation’s focus firmly fixed on Melbourne\, it’s a perfect opportunity for animal lovers to unite and raise awareness of the cruelty of horse racing and other exploitative animal industries. \n\nWe’ve chosen the slogan “Celebrating Animals\, Not Exploiting Them” as we want to give all animal lovers the opportunity to celebrate animals and have a positive and fun experience. \n\nWe’ll be starting the Nup to the Cup Parade at Flinders Street Station (Cnr Flinders St. and Swanston St.) in Melbourne on Monday 2 November at 11am and we expect to finish up around 1pm. \n\nBanners\, flags\, and placards will be provided\, and organisations are very welcome to bring their own animal friendly placards if they wish. See you there for the animals.

DESCRIPTION:Once a year Edgar’s Mission opens the gates and invite you in to meet the animals who live there. \nThis year Open Day sits alongside World Kindness Day; a day dedicated to fostering kindness around the world. \nEdgar’s Mission is home to hundreds of rescued farmed animals\, each one with a story of how they got here. Open Day is your chance to walk the paddocks\, hear those stories from the people who care for them\, and spend an unhurried day in the company of the residents who now call Edgar’s Mission home. \nSunday 15 November 2026\,\n10am to 4pm\nEdgar’s Mission Sanctuary\, Lancefield \nWhat’s on \nGuided tours of the sanctuary to introduce you to the individuals rescued from the industry and promised a home to live the life they were meant to. \nAnimal encounters run throughout the day. Short\, close-up sessions with some of the sanctuary’s best-known residents\, \nFounder Pam Ahern in the afternoon\, looking back on the year that was and what’s ahead for the sanctuary in 2027. \nThe Passport Trail\, a self-guided walk for kids with checkpoints across the property. Collect them all. \nA photography walk for anyone who wants to make better animal portraits\, whatever camera or phone you’ve brought. \nZine-making with Sticky Institute\, a drop-in workshop best suited to ages 8 and up. \nFace painting\, our shop\, and a raffle with some genuinely good prizes\, including a stay in the Tiny House. \nFood and drink \nEverything on site is plant-based. Woking Amazing\, Oh My Doner\, The Kindness Echoes and coffee van The Mylk Bar will be with us all day. Plus\, the Edgar’s Mission sausage sizzle. \nTickets \nAdults $25. Children and anyone on a low income pay what you feel is fair\, because we’d rather you came than didn’t. \nNumbers are capped at 400. Book ahead. If we haven’t reached the cap we’ll sell at the gate on the day\, but we can’t promise that. \nBefore you come \nWe’re a working farm sanctuary\, so wear closed shoes you don’t mind getting dirty and dress for whatever the sky is doing. Parking is on grass and can be soft after rain. Sunscreen\, hat\, water bottle. \nWe love animals but please leave your dog at home. \nEvery ticket goes directly to feeding\, housing and caring for the animals you’ll meet
