SUMMARY:Opening of Duck Shooting Season - Vigil at Parliament House
DESCRIPTION:Another duck and quail shooting season will begin on 18 March in Victoria. \n\nIf you can’t make it to the wetlands for duck rescue – join us to show your opposition to this barbaric slaughter when shotguns start blasting ducks from the sky on wetlands across Victoria at 8am. \n\nWe will be meeting on Parliament steps at 7:45am to be present and in mourning when the shooting starts. Both houses of Parliament are sitting on this day. \n\nPlease wear black and bring any signs and noise makers you wish to bring- we will have signs and banners and tvs.\nMost Victorians are staunchly opposed to shooting of our native wildlife\, with many believing it to be illegal after a Parliamentary Inquiry recommended its banning. \n\nCome along to this vigil and tell the Victorian Government that we have had enough of this state sanctioned violence which panders to a miniscule amount of the population.
