Kindly rescues, rehabilitates and provides lifetime sanctuary to all types of animals. We currently have about 200 rescued animals. These animals come from domestic violence situations, people experiencing homelessness, natural disasters, neglect, people entering aged care facilities or suffering from mental health issues and people becoming incarcerated. The sanctuary is also home to an abundance of wildlife and we are soon to plant 7500 more koala-friendly trees in a 40 acre area that we are fencing off to create a woodland habitat.

A Place of Peace is a safe refuge to literally hundreds of mostly wild animals living their lives naturally with their families and social systems. We also took on wild horses, rescued from culling, and along the way, there were goat kids and motherless lambs, sheep, geese, dogs, and cats who all needed help and a home. In 2012, we expanded to take on cows who we saved from slaughter.

Our mission is to help people rise above a human-centric perspective of the world, embracing the ancient philosophy that all beings are alive, from the tops of the mountains, to the flowing stream, the rocks, the trees, the flowers, and of course, the animals.

Visiting/Tours: As the animals have had so much trauma, and as they live wild running in large herds and flocks, we don’t open to the public, as we found it too stressful for them. This is their home, and they come first. We do, however, welcome volunteers at our (irregular) working bees.
